Will my landlord accept my ESA letter?

Yes. According to the Fair Housing Act, a person who is doctor approved to have an ESA must be offered reasonable accommodations. There are very few exceptions to this rule. Your ESA approval allows you to bypass breed and size restrictions and not be forced to pay additional rent and/or pet security deposits. ESA pet owners are still responsible for the behavior of their animals. An ESA approval does not allow you to bypass responsibility for damages caused by the animal.

*Support Pets may offer to add a second pet to your emotional support animal status as a promotional or paid service. at the doctor’s discretion. This does not guarantee landlords and airlines will allow the second pet without additional rules and/or fees and is outside the doctor’s control. Doctors are unable to provide a separate diagnosis for each animal. Refunds cannot be provided in this instance.
