What all does an ESA Cover?

An Emotional Support Animal (ESA) provides comfort and emotional support to individuals with a diagnosed mental or emotional condition. While ESAs don’t have public access rights, they are protected under the Fair Housing Act. This means landlords must waive pet fees, breed and weight restrictions, and “no pet” rules when you have a valid ESA letter from a licensed practitioner. To avoid any issues, it’s best to share your ESA letter with your landlord ahead of time.
